Avalanche is common critical phenomena in many mountain areas. It is well known for many people that live near the mountains. It is recognized as a natural hazard, because it can make many vital dangers for people’s livelihood. But it isn’t an unpredictable problem, scientist and researcher can indicate the avalanche zones and then control it with using various methods. The main aims of this research are identify avalanche zone in Semirom town and then suggest the basic strategies for avalanche control, in risk zones. In order to identify avalanche zones, we used AHP technique and GIS to preparing an avalanche risk map for Semirom. We use 5 main effective parameters on avalanche occurrence in AHP method (slop, aspect, elevation, vegetation cover, geological types). For each parameter we had a map in Semirom. Each parameter has sub classes that have the different effect in avalanche occurrence. For example, aspect the influence of north is different from south in avalanche occurrence. In AHP method, we analysis these effects about each parameter and their sub classes. Then their maps have been weighted for using in GIS to prepare the avalanche risk map. After the overlaying 5 maps of parameters, the avalanche risk map, exported. The results were very near to actual (90%). Many dangerous zones in map, had critical avalanche in the field in past years according the study of documents and reports. Then we overlay this map on google earth images and we found that in risk zones in avalanche map, what kind of conditions we have in field. Then we suggested the various kind of avalanche control, according to the conditions that google earth images analysis indicated.
