Role of herbal medicine in Cancer treatment

Background and objective: Cancer is the second reason of death in worldwide and increasing each day. Cancer may have different causes such as environmental factors and life style that lead to production of free radicals in human body. Prescription medicine is not to prefer today because of the high cost and their unwanted side effects, such as many side effects of chemotherapy in cancer treatment. Patients are looking for herbal and other natural medicine for the cure and treatment of disease. Today, several studies have shown the increasing of using herbal medicine for treatment of cancer patients and the rate of surviving in many cases is significantly enhanced. Studies are reported of the anti-oxidative and superoxide activities of active components of herbal medicine. These compound prevent lipid peroxidation, so they have anti-cancer propertiesSearch Method: In this review article we are going to looking for the effects of herbal medicine in treatment of depression and we have found these Information from valid articles in google scholar.Findings: plant extracts contain numerous chemical components that could be isolated from each other but if the compounds used together may have showed some synergistic effects that means the using compounds together makes the effect of medicine more considerable. The antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of plant are related to phenolic or flavonoids compounds were evaluated in vitro and in vivo that showed significant antioxidant and cytotoxic activities for cancer cells. Conclusion: Herbal medicine contain cytotoxic and antioxidant compounds that plays an important role in prevention and treatment of cancer.
