Research Progress on the Laticiferous Canal of Toxicodendron Vernicifluum

T.vernicifluum is an economic tree species which is also a specialty of China. The rawlacquer secreted by T. vernicifluum can be used directly as natural paint. Thecultivation of T. vernicifluum and the utilization of raw lacquer have a centuries-oldhistory. Laticiferous canal, which is mainly distributed in the phloem of the vascularbundle of each organ, secretes and stores raw lacquer. By reviewing the research resultsfrom the field of anatomy on the structure of the laticiferous canal and the phloem ofT.vernicifluum, this paper discusses the structure and the development law of thecomponents of laticiferous canal of T. vernicifluum for the purpose of providingtheoretical basis for improving the yield and quality of raw lacquer and providingreference for the future studies on the secretory structure of plants.
