Introduction: There are many measures to reduce the edema after mastectomy, which is associated with unpleasant complications. Their effects have not been able to increase the incidence to zero. Therefore, the researchers decided to evaluate the effect of hand massage + bonding on the week before the mastectomy on the amount of lymph nodes in my hand. Methods: A total of 30 mastectomy patients were enrolled in the study using available sampling method and received massage for 3 hours a day before surgery and also 8 hours of bundling during the day. The examination of the hand was carried out by a specialist before and after the intervention, and was recorded in the relevant checklist. The results were compared by ANOVA test. Results: Among all participants, 5 patients had mild hand discomfort, handicap disability, pain in their hands (P = 0.001), and the positive effects of this method were satisfied by patients and their specialist. Conclusion: The use of hand massage and rubbing for prevention of hand edema after mastectomy in the present study, although it was not able to reduce it to zero but has positive effects and is suggested by the researchers in this study.
