چکیده مقاله:

The amount of waste heat in different engineering fields and finding ways to reduce or reuse this amount have always been a contention point. Most natural gas compressor stations lack a heat recovery system, and such shortages lead to drastic environmental impacts, including global warming. Many researchers suggested innovative procedures such as applying the Original Rankine Cycle (ORC) and many other approaches. However, this study seeks to achieve the objective of using the waste heat released by the turbine exhaust in the natural gas compressor station in the Kalina cycle power generation plant. Kalina cycle and the compressor station were modelled using the Engineering Equation Solver program (EES), and each system is closely examined thermodynamics-wise. Using this model, the effect of inlet pressure, inlet mass flow rate, and inlet ammonia mass fraction on the Kalina cycle is also studied in this research. The results showed that up to ۲.۲۴۶ MW of power was produced, which depicts the efficiency of ۱۴.۹% for the Kalina cycle. Furthermore, it was discovered that by increasing the working fluid's mass flow rate to its optimum value of ۳۰ kg/s, the efficiency of ۲۹.۴۹% can be driven. Furthermore, by expanding the separator inlet ammonia mass fraction up to ۸۸%, the efficiency of the cycle can rise to ۴۸.۴۶%.
